2010 Summer Art Camps

(Space is limited, so register early in order to secure a spot!  February first is the first day that you may reserve a spot in any of the camps or workshops)

*Note:  All camps will be at The Art Location:  2668 E. Citizen’s Dr:  Fayetteville, AR  72703.  (the usual class location) unless specified otherwise. 

Week #1:  Plein Air Painting

June 8-10 from 9AM to 1PM

Tuesday, June 8, 2009:  The Fayetteville Square; Wednesday, June 9:  Wilson Park; and Thursday, June 10th:  The Rippelmeyer Pool.   This outdoor Painting camp is our most popular summer camp!  Lunches are included at local restaurants yet to be decided.   Supplies needed:  canvases, acrylic paint, brushes, paint clothes, spray bottle, rags or paper towels, a palette, a travel easel, a side table and a stool.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Tuscany Trip

June 14 through June 25

(One villa room that sleeps two has opened due to a move, so contact Nadine if you’re interested)

Week #2:  Mosaics/Wikki Stix/Pastels

June 28- July 1 from 1PM to 4PM

Colorful Italian tiles, glass mosaics, shells, stones, and more will be used to create beautiful and original works of art!  Wikki Stix will be used to create original sculptures.  Oil/chalk pastels will be utilized in creating unique pieces of art.  Supplies needed:  pencils, erasers, and sketchpad.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Week #3:  Impressionism

July 5-8 from 9AM to 11:30AM (3-9 year olds); 12:30PM to 3PM (10 years +)

This fun, free, and colorful artistic style will be explored through the use of movies, acrylic painting, pastels, art games, and more.  Learn about Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Mary Cassatt, and more!  This popular camp fills quickly, so register early!  Supplies Needed: sketchpads, pencils, erasers, acrylic paint, canvas, brushes, and palette.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Week #4:  Modern Art

July 13-15 from 9AM to 12PM (3-9 year olds); 1PM to 4PM (10 years +)

This first-time ever camp will feature such modern artists as Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, and many more!  We will create similar works through the use of collage, acrylic painting, block printing, art movies, art games, and more.    Supplies needed: sketchpads, pencils, erasers, acrylic paint, brushes, canvas, and palette.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Week #5:  Advanced Art

July 22- 23 from 10AM to 3PM

Children’s choice of mediums (watercolors, acrylic painting, polymer clay, Wikki Stix, oil or chalk pastels, cartooning, Scratchart, or pen and ink) makes this a favorite of the camps!  This camp is limited to students of all ages who have already taken classes with Nadine Rippelmeyer.  Art games, art movies, swimming, and more will be done during this camp.  Supplies needed:  sketchpads, pencils, erasers, acrylic paint, brushes, canvas, and palette.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Week #6:  Clay, Cartooning, and Drawing

July 26- 28 from 9AM to 12PM (3-9 year olds); 1PM to 4PM (10 years +)

Learn new drawing techniques such as shading, hatching, cross-hatching, and more while learning cartooning!  Sculptures made from polymer clay are created during this camp.  Supplies needed:  sketchpad, graphite and charcoal pencils and erasers.  Swimming, art games, art movies, and more will be a part of this camp.  Please bring swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, and goggles if swimming.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this camp.

Saturday, July 31:  Fall Registration from 8AM to 10AM

2250 N Malcolm Lane, Fayetteville, AR  72701.  Those who have priority for the first round of registrations are those who have taken spring or summer 2009 classes/camps/workshops.  These priority registrations will be from 8-9:30am and new students may register in any open spots from 9:30am-10am. Summer 2010 Workshops

Adult Painting Workshop:

Will be held at The Art Location (the regular class location.)  Enjoy a day of painting that includes a catered lunch.  This workshop is for beginners to professionals.  Learn new techniques and painting styles with the instructor, Nadine Rippelmeyer.  Supplies needed:  canvases, acrylic paint, brushes, paint clothes, spray bottle, rags or paper towels, and palette.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a place in this workshop.

Mommy/Daddy and Me Workshop

Will be held at The Art Location (the regular class location.)  Come join us in this brand new workshop where parent and child will work together to create masterpieces in various mediums.  Some such mediums will include acrylic painting, drawing, and polymer clay.   Catered lunch will be provided.  Supplies needed:  sketchpads, pencils, erasers, acrylic paint, brushes, canvas, and palette.   A $50 non-refundable deposit per person is required to secure a place in this workshop.

Total cost:  $175 per person

Saturday, May 22nd from 10AM to 4PM

Marketing Your Art Seminar: by Nadine Rippelmeyer

Held at The Art Location.   Come and learn tried and true methods to market your art.  One can be the best artist but sell few paintings if you don’t have a plan!  Come and get an update or come for your first time to this ever- popular seminar helping you to become informed how you can earn royalties on your/your child’s paintings for the rest of your life!  Lunch is included.  A large, informative book with helpful step by step instructions on how to make your presence known online and how to maximize your earnings with completed artwork is included! A $50 deposit is required to secure a place in this growing seminar that has helped children through professionals sell and market their art!
